# Opener cut

## What does opener cut show?

It splits your opening on sentence boundaries, counts words as they add up, and marks the sentence that pushes past 45 words. It also flags stock starts such as “in today’s world” and “we’re excited.”

## How to use it

Paste the first paragraph or two.

The first sentence that can stand alone should sit before the budget line.

Delete or move any sentence marked as filler. Those are warmups.

If the point lands after the budget, move that sentence up. Do not just delete until the count looks small.

### Why 45 words?

That is one or two sentences — enough for a product, a person, and a job. Past that you are in the next beat of the story.

### What if I only have one sentence?

You will see one row. If it is under the budget and names the job, you may already be done.

### Does it rewrite the paragraph?

No. It shows where the cut is. You decide what the first sentence should say.
